Okay, I know that it doesn't look like them, but it's really Nanoha and Fate up there. This is a fanart from a fanfiction that I'm currently writing and not yet published. I have problems putting the image in my head into words, so I resorted to drawing them out.
And yes, as you can see, I still suck at drawing backgrounds. I had an edited one with a stock to make things pretty, but I decided to use this original untouched one in the end.
Anyway-- about the fanfiction, I'll give you a sneak peek here.

‘Do you want to die?’
The unexpected question that was asked during the critical moment.
Fate had never expected in all her life that she would be asked that, by a strange being nonetheless.
Given the chance, like during their first meeting, Fate would have did her best to divert the question away. But when that woman asked her that question once more, during that moment where the flame had almost burned her entire body to ashes, Fate couldn’t find it in herself to lie.
Her will to live, by the words of her father, was far greater than her yearning for her late family. No matter how much she wanted to meet them once again, she couldn’t bring herself to to die for the sake of the others.
Thus was why, she had answered with all of her heart.
‘No.’

This is pretty amazing artwork. The only gripe I have is that you didn't make her wings white, to fit in with her "White Devil" nickname.
